1st International Body Music Festival December 2-7, 2008 San Francisco/Oakland, CA

At each concert, artists will perform different material. And each concert will be followed by a party where audience members can celebrate with the artists.

Tuesday, December 2 (Oakland, CA)
Teacher training workshops:  classroom teachers get a chance to learn how body music can enhance their students’ learning experience, in subjects from music to math.

Wednesday, December 3 (Oakland, CA)
In-school assembly program and workshops with festival artists. Body Music Open Mic at locale to be announced.

Thursday, December 4 (Oakland, CA)
In-school assembly program and workshops: lecture and demonstrations.

Friday, December 5 (San Francsico, CA)
Festival Concert #1 (Theater Artaud): showcase of short sets by festival artists, featuring the commissioned piece by The Kecak Project.

Saturday, December 6 (San Francisco, CA)
Body music workshops: beatboxing, bass vocals, kecak, hand games, hambone, and other artforms. Festival Concert #2 (Theater Artaud).
 
Sunday, December 7 (San Francisco, CA)
Body music workshops, family matinee concert: (Theater Artaud): Spend an hour before the show starts learning global hand games from world traveling educator Sofia Lopez-Ibor and her students. Then spend an hour checking out festival artists. Festival Concert #3 (Theater Artaud): Body Music in the Americas.

Theater Artaud is located at 450 Florida St., San Francisco.
