Aphrodesia -
Lagos By Bus
Aphrodesia is a group whose music pays tribute to the father of Afrobeat.  Fela Kuti, powered by two female vocalists, Lara Maykovich and Maya Dorn.  Lagos By Bus is stocked with nine tracks that feature Afrobeat along with Afro- Cuban and Zimbabwean music that ring of sincerity. Pick your favorites from slices as the chant . "Virgin of the Sun God," the huge "White Elaphant," the fast paced " Holy Ghost Invasion," inspired by the handpainted signs they spotted while in Nigeria , plus "Bus Driver" an anthem to world unity.  The brief harmony of "Ago Mado" is followed by the tasty "Ochum Mi" the lengthy "Every Day" is a rythmic masterpiece, while "Agayu" is a bit more methodical, with the waps being put on with "World Under Fire." The highlight of the bands African trip had to be the chance to play Fela Kuti's son Femi in his new music club, The Shrine. Music that will make people move: heart, soul, and feet!
