Bill Laswell does his mystical, magical mishmash number on the "Gigi" album he produced in 2001 with the airy, sensual Ethiopian chanteuse of the same name -- definitely one of the best world music albums of that year. Now a bit more electronic and a less jazz-folk inclined, the new version is billed as Gigi, "Illuminated Audio" (Palm Pictures).
