Come celebrate the Haitian Day of the Dead / All Saints Day - called Gede - which honors
the Gede, a group of spirits who govern the dead and cemeteries as
well as fertility. Gede is amongst the most important of the yearly
festivals in the Voudou religion. Believers honor the Gede and their
deceased relatives and sometimes impersonate the spirits by wearing
white, black or purple, donning sunglasses, face paint and acting
slightly outrageous.
